CSA Waverley Has Been Appointed Red Hat Advanced Partner with Public Sector Focus

Red Hat Appoints New Advanced Partner in On-going European Channel Programme

LONDON -

London, UK, August 31st 2005 - Red Hat, Inc. (Nasdaq: RHAT), the worlds leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced that HP specialist reseller, CSA Waverley, has joined the Red Hat Advanced Partner Programme in Europe. As a Red Hat Advanced Partner, CSA Waverley will be able to present Red Hats entire portfolio of open source solutions that enables its customers to fully enjoy the cost benefits, the security and performance connected with Linux based solutions.

CSA Waverley main customer base comes from the public sector, with a particular focus in Healthcare. This is largely driven by CSA Waverleys focus upon partnerships with ISVs that offer complementary solutions to clients within the health sector. With the current drive towards greater empowerment for doctors to view online patient records and other IT related efficiencies, there is a clear opportunity to deliver further value through the increased security, performance and cost saving benefits associated with running these applications on the Linux operating system.

"Red Hat selects its Advanced Partners on the basis of specific verticals focus and the complementary capabilities to deliver a Linux based solution. We are seeing a growing demand for enterprise ready open source solutions especially within the Life Science, Academic, Oil & Gas and healthcare industries making the appointment of CSA Waverley as an Advanced Red Hat partner a perfect fit for Red Hat as we increase our growth in the UK public sector," said Hitesh Patel, Red Hat Business Partner Manager for the UK and Ireland.

The open source solutions offered by CSA Waverley are centered round HP Blade Server-based environments that enable the customer to consolidate applications and grow their IT resources in line with the demands placed upon their business. CSA Waverley also addresses local government bodies such as borough councils with their remote management capability. Councils can effectively outsource their Linux skills, with CSA Waverly able to remotely carry out all of the operating system update, management and provisioning on the customers behalf.

Steve Nicholls, Operations Manager for CSA Waverley commented: "Within our client base we found that security is an equally significant driver for the adoption for Linux as well as cost, Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) that is a core component of Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.4. We expect this will further fuel the appetite for a Linux based solution as it affords the user with increased resilience and reduces the vulnerability from Web Based attack to the client network."
